C. S. 루이스(C.S. Lewis) 소개

1898년 아일랜드 벨파스트 출생. 1925년부터 1954년까지 옥스퍼드의 모들린 칼리지에서 강의하다가, 1954년 케임브리지의 모들린 칼리지 교수로 부임하여 중세 및 르네상스 문학을 가르쳤다. 기독교 집안에서 태어났으나 신앙을 버리고 완고한 무신론자가 되었던 루이스는 1929년 회심한 후, 치밀하고도 논리적인 변증과 명료하고 문학적인 문체로 뛰어난 저작들을 남겼다. 1963년 작고.
