메리 하딘 베일러 대학의 기독교학 조교수이다. 풀러 신학교에서 신약 성서학으로 박사학위를 받았으며 저서로는 Reading Mark’s Christology Under Caesar (IVP Academic, 2018), The Purpose of Mark's Gospel (Mohr Siebeck, 2008), Mark and the Elijah-Elisha Narrative (Wipf and Stock, 2010)가 있고, 편집한 책으로 An Introduction to Empire in the New Testament (SBL Press, 2016)가 있다.
마가복음, 누가복음, 로마제국과 신약성경, 1세기 기독교 운동 속 기독론에 관심이 많다.
