미국 남침례신학교(The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary)에서 박사 학위를 받았으며, 같은 신학교에서 신약 해석학과 성경신학 교수로 재직 중이다. The Southern Baptist Journal of Theology 의 편집인이기도 하다. 그는 남침례신학교를 통해 해외로 단기 선교를 나가는 이들을 지도하고 가르치는 일에 열정적으로 참여하고 있다. 저서로는 Jesus’ Blood and Righteousness: Paul’s theology of Imputation, Justification by Grace through Faith: Finding Freedom from Legalism, Lawlessness, Pride, and Despair 가 있다.
